Enhancing understanding:  The Education Bureau has produced a Basic Law video teaching resource package for secondary schools.

The Education Bureau has produced a Basic Law video teaching resource package for secondary schools to tie in with the 25th anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law.

The package covers the Basic Law’s constitutional status and the concept of "one country, two systems", and contains an audio-visual component, teaching suggestions, suggested lesson length, outlines for discussion, suggestions for extended reading and project learning, and proposed assessment resources.

The bureau today held a launch ceremony and seminar for the teaching package, inviting representatives from school sponsoring bodies and educational committees, principals and vice-principals to attend. They were briefed on ways to enhance students' understanding of the Basic Law through the school curriculum, while school representatives also shared their experiences in promoting Basic Law education.

Secondary schools can collect the teaching resource package from their Regional Education Offices in May. An online version is also available here.
