Three Vietnamese illegal workers have been jailed for 15 months by Sha Tin Magistracy.
During raids on August 10 and 11, Immigration Department officers arrested three Vietnamese women, aged 31 to 50, who were working in restaurants in To Kwa Wan, Jordan and Tsuen Wan.
Two of them are non-refoulement claimants holding immigration recognisance forms prohibiting them from working, while the other is an illegal immigrant.
The trio were charged with taking employment after landing in Hong Kong unlawfully and remaining in Hong Kong without the authority of the Director of Immigration or while being a person in respect of whom a removal order or deportation order was in force.
They pleaded guilty and were sentenced on August 12 and 13. They also pleaded guilty to using or possessing a forged Hong Kong identity card.
