The Centre for Health Protection has learned of a human case of avian influenza A(H5N6) in Hunan.
The 11-year-old girl fell ill on April 11 and is in stable condition.
The Mainland has reported 12 H5N6 cases since 2014.
The centre urged the public to maintain strict personal, food and environmental hygiene both locally and during travel.
