The 2016 Lunar New Year Fireworks Display over Victoria Harbour will be held at 8pm on February 9, the second day of the Lunar New Year.
Co-ordinated by the Home Affairs Bureau, 23,888 pyrotechnic shells will be fired from three barges in a 23-minute show consisting of eight scenes.
Highlights will include a display of smiling monkey faces in the second scene and multi-coloured spheres depicting the theme of "Love & Care" in the seventh scene.
The display will reach its climax in a 30-second scene with a gun salute finale.
The Chinese Manufacturers' Association is sponsoring the event, which is part of the "Appreciate Hong Kong" Campaign.
The association will also host a dinner reception at the Convention & Exhibition Centre. It has invited 1,000 people from under-privileged families to join the dinner and enjoy the fireworks display.
