One kindergarten student has been found to have an elevated level of lead in the blood.
The result was detected in the latest batch of 161 blood samples from kindergarten children residents of housing estates with lead detected in the water.
The student, from St Jerome's Catholic Kindergarten, Tin Shui Wai, was found to have a lead level at 8.67 micrograms per decilitre, indicating potential health risk.
The Department of Health will arrange a lead exposure assessment and preliminary developmental assessment for the student, and the Hospital Authority will follow up on the blood lead level over time.
The public can call the department's hotline 2125 1122 regarding lead and its health effects, and to book blood tests.
The department has arranged 5,247 appointments for blood testing so far and its hotline has received 7,801 telephone enquiries.
