War website launched

August 07, 2015

The Home Affairs Bureau today launched a website to commemorate the 70th anniversary of victory in the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression.

A variety of commemorative events are listed on the website, including an official commemorative ceremony, a commemorative stamp issue, exhibitions of relics and pictures, guided tours of war heritage sites, seminars, lectures and educational workshops, film shows, book displays and cultural shows.

The bureau said the activities will enable people to learn more about the war and commemorate those who gave their lives for the motherland, and also spread a peace-loving message.

Among the events is an official ceremony to be held at the City Hall Memorial Garden on September 3 to commemorate the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression.

Hongkong Post will also issue a commemorative stamp sheetlet to mark this important event.
