The Government proposes designating September 3 this year as a one-off special holiday to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression.
It will hold various commemorative activities on the day.
The Special Holiday (3 September 2015) Bill will be tabled at the Legislative Council on May 27 to designate the day as an additional general holiday and statutory holiday.
The Central Government has also designated the day as a national holiday and will hold commemorative activities throughout the Mainland.
