The Department of Health is monitoring two newly reported Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS, cases in the United Arab Emirates.
The patients, an 11-year-old boy and 46-year-old woman, had had contact with confirmed MERS cases.
A previously confirmed patient has died.
In addition to the 181 laboratory-confirmed cases in Korea and one exported to Mainland China, 1,175 cases have been reported to the World Health Organisation, including at least 453 deaths.
In view of the latest situation in Korea, people are urged to avoid non-essential travel to the country and avoid unnecessary visits to healthcare facilities in places at risk for MERS.
As it is the month of Ramadan, the department reminds pilgrims going to Saudi Arabia for Umrah to stay vigilant against the disease.
