The Centre for Health Protection has announced that from noon yesterday to noon today, six new severe adult influenza cases were recorded, including five deaths.
This brings the total number of severe adult cases to 480, including 359 deaths.
The centre is also investigating a severe paediatric case. The patient is a 12-year-old boy who tested positive for influenza A (H3). He fell ill yesterday and is in stable condition.
The centre urged people to stay vigilant, get vaccinated early, and maintain good personal and environmental hygiene.
