Chief Executive CY Leung has welcomed the Legislative Council's passing of a bill to amend the Employment Ordinance to provide three days' paid paternity leave as a statutory benefit for working fathers.
Chief Executive CY Leung said he is glad to see the passage as it is a family-friendly pledge he made in his election manifesto.
Noting some legislators and the public want more than three days, Mr Leung said the bill's passage is a first step.
The Government will continue to work on constitutional reform, economic development and livelihood measures, he added.
