The Centre for Health Protection today confirmed the ninth human H7N9 case in Hong Kong, an 82-year-old woman who usually resides in Liwan, Guangzhou.
She has underlying illnesses and developed a bloody cough on April 7.
She returned to Hong Kong yesterday with two family members and was admitted to North District Hospital.
She was later transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital and is in stable condition.
The centre is investigating her exposure history and tracing her contacts including her family members in Hong Kong, relevant healthcare workers, ambulance staff and an immigration officer at the control point for medical surveillance.
