Mainland authorities have reported six new human cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) to the Centre for Health Protection, one each in Shenzhen, Jiangmen, Jiangsu and Hunan, and two in Fujian.
The two Guangdong cases include a woman, aged 77, in hospital, and a 68-year-old man who died on January 25.
The four other cases include three women, aged 58 to 72, and a 69-year-old man, all of who are in hospital.
This brings the number of confirmed Mainland cases to 246.
