The Centre for Health Protection has received notification from Mainland health authorities of seven additional human cases of avian influenza A (H7N9).
The cases are in Shenzhen (one), Zhejiang (five) and Shanghai (one), involving two men and five women, aged 34 to 71. All are in hospital.
The centre will follow up with Mainland health authorities for more details.
As of yesterday, a total of 221 H7N9 cases have been confirmed in the Mainland.
