Gov't to ensure formula supply

Secretary for Food & Health Dr Ko Wing-man says the Government would only consider lifting the formula export restriction if the supply for powdered formula is sure to be able to meet local demand.
 
Speaking to reporters today, Dr Ko said that half a year ago, when the Legislative Council was examining the Import and Export (General)(Amendment) Regulation 2013, the Government had already announced there would be a review in one year.
 
He said the Government listened to public opinion and decided it would also conduct a review in six months, corresponding with the long holiday for National Day, during which time a stress test would be conducted.
