August 11, 2012
More than 2,000 people attended a variety show to welcome the Tiangong-1/Shenzhou-9 space mission delegation at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre on day two of the group's visit to Hong Kong.

During the show, Tangong-1/Shenzhou-9 astronauts Jing Haipeng, Liu Wang, and Liu Yan described their 13-day experience in space with the audience and sang the song Descendants of the Dragon with a children’s choir. Ms Liu recited the poem Song of the Yangtze River with a student. Local artists also performed, including talented young pianist Aristo Sham.

Participants of the Young Astronaut Training Camp had the opportunity to ask the delegation questions about space and technology.

Before the show ended, guests including Acting Financial Secretary Prof KC Chan, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong Li Gang, Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing, and Director of Home Affairs Pamela Tan were also invited to sing a song with the delegation.

The show was broadcast live on television. Highlights will be shown at 11pm tonight, and online until September 9.
