Secretary for Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang attended the 3rd World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, Zhejiang, today and met Cyberspace Administration of China Director Xu Lin.
They discussed how to better use Hong Kong's unique advantages under "one country, two systems" to create mutual benefits.
Speaking at the Cross-Strait, Hong Kong & Macao Internet Development Forum, Mr Yang outlined Hong Kong’s innovation and technology advantage, noting that promoting a smart city and big data application is a priority task of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.
Mr Yang also met Hong Kong delegates at the conference, along with representatives from the Cyberspace Administration and the Ministry of Commerce.
Yesterday he met Tencent's Dowson Tong and convener of the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27/WG 1 working group Prof Edward Humphreys.
