Financial Secretary John Tsang today attended the First Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in Beijing as a member of the Chinese delegation.
Mr Tsang also called on China Securities Regulatory Commission Chairman Liu Shiyu and the bank’s President Jin Liqun.
Mr Tsang thanked the commission for its support in strengthening Hong Kong's status as the global offshore renminbi business hub.
When meeting with Mr Jin, Mr Tsang said Hong Kong will support the bank's work, particularly in areas such as project financing, investment, financial management and foreign exchange management.
Mr Tsang will speak at the National Youth Summit for Future Leaders in Finance tomorrow before returning to Hong Kong.
