Secretary for Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang today congratulated local information and communications practitioners for winning 10 awards at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards 2015, the best award tally among the 14 participating economies.
Out of 185 entries, Hong Kong won one grand award and nine merits in nine categories at the awards in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Mr Yang noted that Hong Kong teams have achieved remarkable results at the contest and that the city’s professionals and students fully demonstrated their innovation, ingenuity and excellence.
The Government has sponsored local student entrants and non-profit community organisations to participate in the awards. This year, 17 students and four members of these organisations received Government sponsorship.
Government Chief Information Officer Allen Yeung was the 55-strong Hong Kong delegation’s honorary head, leading it to compete in the contest held from November 18 to 22.
