Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So says the Government is very concerned about ATV staff not being paid for November, and will study whether the broadcaster is maintaining its service.
He told the media today the Labour Department is providing assistance to ATV employees, and the Office of the Communications Authority will ensure ATV complies with the provisions of the Broadcasting Ordinance as well as its licence conditions.
OFCA submitted its recommendations to the Chief Executive in Council on November 4 on whether to renew ATV's licence. It may submit supplementary documents about ATV's current financial situation.
