Financial Secretary John Tsang continued his Sydney visit today, meeting officials and business leaders.
He first visited National ICT Australia, the nation's largest organisation dedicated to commercialisation of information communications technology research.
He then spoke to businessmen, politicians and academics at a boardroom lunch hosted by Asialink.
Noting Hong Kong is Australia's financial super-highway to China, he said the city can help Australian companies take advantage of the renminbi in international trade settlement and investment.
In a meeting with Australian Securities Exchange Director Ken Henry, Mr Tsang discussed Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, opportunities in renminbi business and regional infrastructure funding.
He also spoke at a networking reception co-organised by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Sydney and the Hong Kong Australia Business Association.
He will return to Hong Kong tomorrow.
