Retirement report analysed

The Commission on Poverty met today to discuss the consultation report on retirement protection and review the implementation of the Low-income Working Family Allowance Scheme.

 

The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Carrie Lam.

 

Members noted over 18,000 submissions were received during the consultation period.

 

The independent consultant briefed members on the consultation report's content.

 

Members also noted more than 46,500 applications for the Low-income Working Family Allowance Scheme have been received, with almost 29,900 applications approved and allowance payments amounting to $350 million granted as at December 9.
