The Government will study the High Court judgment handed down today on the oath-taking of legislators-elect Sixtus Leung and Yau Wai-ching.
In a statement tonight, the Government noted the court's ruling on the construction of the provisions in the Oaths & Declarations Ordinance and the Legislative Council Ordinance in light of Basic Law Article 104.
It will consider the National People's Congress Standing Committee's interpretation of Basic Law Article 104, the court judgment and the way forward, the statement said.
