Electoral Affairs Commission Chairman Justice Barnabas Fung inspected the Central Counting Station for the 2016 Legislative Council Election at AsiaWorld-Expo today.
Speaking to reporters, he said it is a long-standing practice for presiding officers of polling stations to take home ballot papers before election day due to operational needs, which is better than hiring logistics companies.
The election is tomorrow. Polling stations will be open from 7.30am to 10.30pm.
Mr Fung reminded electors to observe polling station arrangements, obey the orders of the Presiding Officer, and follow voting procedures.
The Returning Officer or Presiding Officer can order a disorderly person to leave the polling station and may seek Police assistance, he added.
