The Appreciate Hong Kong campaign aims to instill positive energy and a sense of confidence among Hong Kong people, and has nothing to do with upcoming elections or electioneering activities, Acting Chief Executive Carrie Lam said.

Speaking to reporters before attending an Executive Council meeting today, Mrs Lam said the campaign starts on December 1, after the District Council election, and runs until the end of April, well before society gears up for the 2016 Legislative Council election.

She added that the campaign will not affect the Government’s other measures to help the needy.
