Chief Executive CY Leung met visiting Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and President of the China Association for Science & Technology Han Qide at Government House this evening.
Mr Leung said the Special Administrative Region Government attaches great importance to the development of innovation and technology, in particular nurturing interest in science and technology among youths.
As Hong Kong will host the China Adolescent Science & Technology Innovation Contest this year, he believes youths from the two places can make use of the invaluable opportunity to exchange knowledge and learn from each other.
He hoped Hong Kong and the association could enhance co-operation and promote exchanges in science and technology between youths.
