Chief Secretary Carrie Lam expressed her regrets over a gas blast in Shek Kip Mei yesterday, noting that the Government is offering help to victims and their families.
Speaking to the media after visiting an injured firefighter at Princess Margaret Hospital today, Mrs Lam said she expressed sympathy to the firefighter's family and pledged to give assistance.
Firefighters are steadfast on the job, and protect citizens' lives and property. It is tragic if they get injured on duty, she added.
Mrs Lam also visited two other firefighters injured in the incident at Prince of Wales Hospital.
