Chief Executive CY Leung has called on legislators to make regular study visits, even when the second round of consultation on constitutional reform is about to start.
Mr Leung has proposed that all legislators visit Guangdong when LegCo resumes.
Speaking to the media today, he said that as social and economic ties between Hong Kong and Guangdong get closer, legislators should have a deeper understanding of the latest bilateral developments.
As Hong Kong is an international city, the Government has often arranged overseas study visits for legislators, he said, adding he hopes more frequent study visits, especially to the Mainland, will benefit relations between legislators and the Central Government.
