Chief Executive CY Leung says the Government has completely fulfilled its duties in the executive-led political system, adding that the Legislative Council’s rules and procedures are outside the administration's purview.
Speaking at his LegCo question and answer session today, Mr Leung suggested lawmakers consider reviewing the legislature's rules and procedures, saying the public will be happy to see LegCo have a set of rules that can stop a minority of lawmakers from hijacking the agenda.
Mr Leung also said the Government will continue its work despite the delays in LegCo, adding all social sectors will benefit if the legislative holdup can be solved.
He urged the community and legislators to think about the excessive verbal abuse and violence inside the LegCo chamber.
