CE to attend Boao, Shanghai meetings

Chief Executive CY Leung will attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2014 on April 9, then join parts of a Legislative Council member visit in Shanghai on April 11.

 

The Boao conference theme is "Asia's New Future: Identifying New Growth Drivers". It will include a session on Hong Kong’s future as an international financial centre, and another on Hong Kong’s opportunities and challenges in the process of renminbi internationalisation. The Chief Executive, and Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan, will speak at both sessions.

 

Mr Leung will leave Hainan to join parts of a LegCo member visit in Shanghai, and will return to Hong Kong on April 13. His office director Edward Yau, and Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam will accompany him in Shanghai.

 

Director of Information Services Patrick Nip, the Chief Executive’s Deputy Private Secretary Linda So and his Senior Special Assistant Chan Kin-ping, and Assistant Director (Media) Nick Au Yeung, will accompany Mr Leung on both legs of his Mainland visit.

 

During Mr Leung's absence, Chief Secretary Carrie Lam will be Acting Chief Executive. During Prof Chan and Mr Tam’s absences, their respective Under Secretaries will be the acting heads of bureaux.
