FS starts Myanmar visit

Financial Secretary John Tsang started his visit to Myanmar today by seeing Chinese Ambassador Yang Houlan, meeting Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry President Win Aung, and attending a business luncheon in Yangon.
Mr Tsang paid a courtesy call on Mr Yang in the morning. He then held a meeting with Mr Win, to learn about the economic outlook, investment environment and business opportunities in Myanmar.
Mr Tsang then attended a business luncheon and said Hong Kong and Myanmar are highly complementary in various economic aspects. He added that, Hong Kong's expertise in financial services, logistics, infrastructure and professional services and other key areas can contribute to the further development of the country.
He welcomed more Myanmar companies to take full advantage of Hong Kong's strengths to connect with new markets in Mainland China.
In Nay Pyi Taw Mr Tsang attended a working dinner with Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Than Nyein.
