CE open on ExCo leave
May 24, 2013
Chief Executive CY Leung said today he keeps an open mind on whether it is necessary to specify the period of leave by ex-officio members of the Executive Council.
He told the media that members on leave stop performing their duty and will not receive any meeting documents, nor will they receive any allowance.
It has been the practice in the past and it remains the practice at present, he said, adding he welcomes views that can help improve the system.
He said he will not comment further on the matter relating to the Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange because a Police investigation is ongoing. He said it is clear the Government and law enforcement agencies are handling it in a fair manner.
