ExCo meeting suspension valid

The Executive Council Secretariat says there will be no Executive Council meeting on May 21, because there are no agenda items.
 
The statement was made today in response to media enquiries, and the arrangement was agreed upon by its members at the weekly meeting on May 14.
 
It said the Government attaches great importance to the council's work, which deals with items submitted by policy bureaus promptly and seriously.
 
Previous council meetings have been longer due to thorough discussion, it noted, and the summer recess was also shortened to two weeks from two months in the past.
