Local pianist to play Schumann, Chopin

Promising local pianist Raymond Young will perform a selection of compositions by Schumann and Chopin on September 28.

 

The programme comprises Schumann's Arabeske and Kreisleriana, and Chopin's Nocturne in E-flat, Ballade No. 3, Mazurka in A-minor, Mazurka in C-sharp minor, Polonaise-Fantaisie and Scherzo No. 2.

 

Young was the first-prize medallist in the two-piano section and the silver medallist in the duet section at the International Piano Competition in Rome, and honoured with the Promising Young Artist Award at the Braunschweig Classix Festival in Germany.

 

Presented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, Young's recital will be held at 8pm on September 28 at City Hall.
