Historic event: An exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of Dr Sun Yat-sen's funeral will be held from September 4 to March 17.

To mark the 80th anniversary of Dr Sun Yat-sen's funeral an exhibition featuring 180 photographs and relics will be held at the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum from September 4 to March 17.

The exhibition covers the funeral's organisation, construction of the Dr Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the moving of Dr Sun's coffin from Beijing to Nanjing.

The significance of Dr Sun's funeral has rekindled academic interest in recent years, with scholars recognising the event had far-reaching historical implications.

Admission is $10 with a half-price concession for students, the disabled and the elderly. Admission is free Wednesdays and on the anniversaries of Dr Sun's birth, November 12, and death, March 12.
