Exhibitions
Ancient Roman relics to go on show
Roman Empire relics
Roman relic: Ancient Roman art like this fresco of a flying hippogryph will be shown at the Museum of Art.
*
An exhibition featuring 170 art works from the Roman Empire will be held at the Museum of Art July 18 to October 5.

The exhibition features works from villas in Stabiae in Italy, including frescoes, stuccoed decorations, and terracotta, glass, bronze, iron and marble objects. A complete installation of three wall sections will also be shown.

The volcano Mount Vesuvius erupted in AD79 and entombed Stabiae with lava and ash, which preserved its frescoes and artifacts.

A free English lecture on ancient relics of the Roman Empire will also be held July 19 at 2.30pm.

Exhibition admission is $20, with a half-price concession for full-time students, the disabled and seniors. For details click here or call 2721 0116.
