Renowned guqin player Zeng Chengwei will give a recital on August 19 at the Cultural Centre.
The guqin, a seven-stringed zither, is China's oldest stringed instrument with a history of about 3,000 years.
Zeng, a native of Chengdu, began guqin lessons at an early age with his grandfather Yu Shaoze, a renowned master of the instrument.
Zeng will perform works including Confucius Reading the Book of Changes, Autumn Water, Orchid, and Flowing Water & Evening Song of the Drunken Fisherman.
The recital is another feature in the Arts Care series presented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department.
Tickets for the show are $150 at URBTIX outlets.
Zeng will hold a pre-concert talk in Putonghua at 7.30pm on August 18 at the Cultural Centre. Admission is free. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
