Immigration to use new warrant cards
Identity proof: The Immigration Department will issue new smart warrant cards to its staff to enhance operational efficiency.
*

Immigration officers will use new smart warrant cards from tomorrow.

The new warrant card is a multi-functional smart card embedded with a chip module with contact and contactless interface, which provides room for extending its functions beyond being a proof of identity.

It also enables staff members to gain access to the controlled floors of the Immigration Headquarters.

The new warrant card is highly secure and is made of polycarbonate with the crest of the Immigration Department printed on the top left-hand corner.

It contains forgery-proof security features, including optical variable ink, guilloche, rainbow printing and display of the Immigration crest under ultraviolet light. The holder's personal information is securely encrypted in the chip embedded in the card.
