Senior dies in Kwai Chung traffic accident

Police have arrested a 53-year-old container truck driver after his vehicle reportedly struck and killed a 78-year-old woman in Kwai Chung this morning.

 

At about 9.40am, the driver was pulling out of an industrial building, making a left turn into the eastbound lane of Ta Chuen Ping Street when the truck struck the woman as she was crossing the road.   

 

She was trapped under the truck and certified dead at the scene.

 

Police arrested the driver for dangerous driving causing death.  

 

Anyone who saw the accident is asked to call Police on 3661 1300 or 3661 1346.
