Police have classified a mother-daughter death in Wong Tai Sin on August 8 murder-suicide.

About 8pm that day Police were told a woman was wandering along a corridor in Sau Yuen House, Chuk Yuen South Estate. When officers arrived the 33-year-old had returned to a unit which was emitting smoke. She subsequently fell from a height and was certified dead at the scene.

Officers entered the unit and found a 71-year-old woman lying unconscious with a severe head injury and multiple chop wounds to her body. She was certified dead at the scene and officers found two choppers and two knives in the flat.

Police believe the daughter attacked her mother before committing suicide.
