*

Seventeen illegal workers and three employers have been arrested in an anti-illegal worker crackdown in West Kowloon.

The blitz - by Police, Immigration and Labour Departments - started at 8am and ended at 8.30pm today.

Officers raided 62 workplaces in Tung Choi Street, Temple Street, Tsim Sha Tsui and Yau Ma Tei districts, including restaurants, takeaway food shops, a textile company, industrial buildings, and checked 50 people's proof of identity.

Among the 17 arrested illegal workers, six were non-ethnic Chinese illegal immigrants, eight were non-ethnic Chinese visitors and three were foreign domestic helpers.
