Customs calling: Customs & Excise Department staff seized $1 million worth of fake mobile phone accessories at the Kwai Chung Container Terminal.

Customs officers seized $1 million worth of counterfeit mobile phone accessories at the Kwai Chung Container Terminal yesterday.

While searching a 20-foot-long container unloaded from a river trade vessel from Huangpu, the officers seized over 26,000 sets of counterfeit mobile-phone accessories, including phone cases, headphones and batteries.

Preliminary investigations revealed the consignment was destined for Malaysia.

Customs investigations are ongoing and no arrest has yet been made.
