Police have charged the mother of an eight-year-old boy with his murder.

The boy's father, aged 47, called police just before 6.30pm yesterday. He said he found his son lying unconscious in a bedroom of their home in Choi Ming Court, in Tseung Kwan O.

Ambulance men found the boy dead at the scene and police arrested his mother.

A post-mortem showed he died of suffocation.
