Road enhancements set for Bathing Beach
*

Proposed road works to provide safe vehicle access in and out of the public car park at the Bathing Beach in Lung Mei, Tai Po have been authorised by the Chief Executive in Council.

The works include:

* widening a section of Ting Kok Road to a single two-way, three-lane carriageway and reprovisioning a section of an existing footpath on the southern side of the widened road;

* building a fee-paying public car park with a signalised junction at egress/ingress and relocating a bus stop on the southern side of the widened road;

* permanent closure and demolition or temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing carriageway and footpath; and

* ancillary works such as construction of safety islands, dropped kerbs, retaining walls and seawalls.

The project is expected to start in 2011 for completion by 2013.
