Centre Street escalator link proposed

Highways Department

Covered escalators are proposed  to be built on Centre Street between Third Street and the access of Ying Wa Terrace, and between the access of Ying Wa Terrace and Bonham Road, a notice published in the Gazette today says.

 

There will also be stairlifts, a staircase section and covered footpaths built next to the proposed escalators. Other works include drainage, landscaping, and electrical and mechanical works.

 

Some sections of the existing street, footpaths and staircase will be permanently or temporarily closed and rebuilt.

 

Notices for the works' authorisation have been posted near the site of the proposed works area.
