Long Ke mobile station launched
*
Office of the Telecommunications Authority

A new base station at Long Ke has opened, the 13th in Hong Kong's in country parks, the Office of the Telecommunications Authority says. It covers Sai Kung East Country Park, Long Ke Wan and parts of the MacLehose Trail Section 1 and Section 2.

Three more mobile base stations are scheduled to be completed this year, further enhancing mobile coverage in Sai Kung, southern Lantau and Tai Lam Chung.

The office said it will continue to facilitate and co-ordinate with mobile network operators to establish new mobile base stations in country parks.

It will also continue to update mobile coverage information in country parks for the public. So far 161 digital maps have been produced and uploaded here. Three colours denote mobile service availability along popular trails. Green indicates that the signal of at least one local mobile network is good, yellow indicates the voice quality may be poor, and red indicates there is no service.
