Road T3 bridge completed
*

The Civil Engineering & Development Department has completed construction of the southbound mainline bridge of Road T3 in Tai Wai, a significant milestone in the project.

Speaking at the completion ceremony today, Director of Civil Engineering & Development John Chai said the project is one of several to improve Sha Tin's road network.

"The Road T3 serves as an essential link to Route 8 in Sha Tin and provides a high-speed road connecting Sha Tin with the urban area and the airport. With Road T3, the traffic pressure on the existing link roads between Sha Tin and Kowloon will be greatly relieved. The whole Road T3 project is expected to complete in 2007," he said.

The southbound bridge will open to traffic at 11am tomorrow. With the opening of the southbound mainline bridge, traffic conditions on Tai Po Road in Tai Wai area will be improved.

To tie in with the remaining construction works of Road T3, temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented.
