User-friendly: Facilities like this self-service book check-out and renewal service will be provided in the new library.

The new Tung Chung Public Library will open on July 27, offering more comprehensive library services to residents in the district.

 

New facilities and services in the 2,713-square-metre facility include express check-in service, self-service photocopying, a leisure reading area and coffee corner, multimedia library, computer and information centre and students' study room.

 

Original facilities such as an adult library, newspaper and periodicals section, self-service book check-out and renewal service and Internet express terminal will also be kept.

 

The library has an initial stock of more than 150,000 items including Chinese and English books, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, directories, compact discs and CD-Roms, to suit people of all ages and interests.

 

It is located in the Tung Chung Municipal Services Building. Students and educational organisations are welcome to contact the library for group visits.
