3 more Dengue fever cases confirmed

Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed three imported Dengue fever cases, involving three women aged 27 to 68.

 

A 68-year-old woman travelled to Indonesia July 14 to 29 and came down with fever and tiredness on August 1. She was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital on August 3 and was discharged August 15. Her travel companions and her family members have no symptoms.

 

A 53-year-old woman visited Bangladesh May 11 to August 4. She came down with fever, headache, bone pain and myalgia on August 6 and was admitted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital five days later. She was discharged on August 16.

 

A 27-year-old woman toured the Philippines July 23 to August 5. She came down with Dengue fever symptoms on August 5 and was sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital on August 10. She was discharged on August 15. Three other tour members were confirmed yesterday to have Dengue fever.

 

The cases bring the year's imported Dengue fever cases to 28. Last year saw 31 cases, all imported.
