Vendor fined for selling drug-laced pork

Centre for Food Safety Department

Kwun Tong Magistracy has fined a fresh provision shop operator $20,000 for selling pork containing non-permitted veterinary drug clenbuterol.

 

Food & Environmental Hygiene Department officers seized the pork from stall No.87, ground floor, Tai Ping Market in Lei Yue Mun Plaza, March 23.

 

Samples were taken for tests and clenbuterol residues were found.

 

Anyone who has doubts about meat being sold at retail outlets should call 2868 0000.
