Another shark alert issued for Hoi Ha Wan
*
Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department

The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department urges people to stop all water-based activities in Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park, following the sighting of another shark.

Two juvenile sharks up to three-feet long were seen inside the park two days ago. About 4pm today the department spotted another juvenile shark up to four-feet long.

Juvenile sharks can swim to shallow waters and pose a threat to public safety. People should refrain from swimming, diving or any other water-based activities in the park for the time being, even in shallow water. People found in the water in the park will be asked to leave.

The department will continue to watch for sharks and has informed Marine Police and the Leisure & Cultural Services Department of the latest sighting.
